Police Arrest Suspected Kidnappers,Fraudsters, Recover Counterfeit Currency and Ammunition

In a series of successful operations, the Katsina State Police Command has made significant arrests and recoveries.
Arrest of Suspected Kidnappers:
1.Haruna Mohammed (30), Yahaya Alhassan (28), Idris Isah (30), and Zuhairu Umar (25): These individuals, hailing from Jigawa and Katsina states, were apprehended for their alleged involvement in a kidnapping-for-ransom syndicate. On October 1, 2022, they reportedly conspired with three other suspects (Rago, Garba Margododo, and Idris – now at large) to attack the residence of Alhaji Sidi Usman in Baure LGA. During this attack, they kidnapped Alhaji Usman’s wife and her three-month-old baby. The police promptly responded to the report, leading to the capture of these suspects. During the investigation, they confessed to their involvement in the crime, and three rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition were found in their possession. The investigation is ongoing.
Arrest of Suspected Bandit:
2. Lawal Alhaji Idris (30):This individual from Shuwaki village, Faskari LGA, was arrested as a suspected member of a kidnap-for-ransom syndicate operating in Faskari LGA and its environs. During the investigation, he confessed to his involvement and identified his cohorts as Tsoho Danfulani, Miyalla Danfulani, and Zaharaddini Danyaro, who are currently at large. He admitted to masterminding the kidnapping of Alhaji Hussaini in Shuwaki village, which resulted in one person being shot and killed. The suspects also attempted to kidnap Alhaji Musa of Gidan Dan Gwamna village and stole beans. Efforts are underway to apprehend the other fleeing syndicate members. The investigation is ongoing.
Arrest of Suspected Fraudsters and Recovery of Counterfeit Currency:
3.Alhaji Ali Yau (67), Alhaji Alhassan Suleiman (35), Bello Abubakar (58), Aliyu Usman (35), Uzaifa Ishaq (48), Kabir Ibrahim (40), Babangida Abdullahi (40), Nasiru Mani (48), Mansur Abubakar (55), and Ukashat Sulaiman (25):These individuals were apprehended for their alleged involvement in fraudulent activities using counterfeit currency.
The police received credible information about their activities in a house located at Bakin Kasuwa quarters, Kankia LGA. Upon investigation, the suspects were arrested, and during a search of the house, a bottle containing liquid suspected to be mercury and 144 pieces of suspected counterfeit one-thousand-naira notes were recovered. The suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
